It was all fun last Friday at Grandeur Events Center as sensational rap & hip hop artistes, Modenine, Eva, Olamide, Phenom, Show Dem Camp (SDC) and last year winner of the Nokia Don’t Break Da Beat rap competition, TKO, thrilled many Nigerian youths with electrifying performances as Finnish phone maker, Nokia in Partnership with Trace urban, announced the commencement of round 2 of the Don’t Break Da Beat rap competition with a reward price of $20,000.
The announcement of the competition was made along with the introduction of 2 new Nokia Asha devices; Asha 210, a dual SIM device that comes with a 2.4 inch LCD display screen, fast and responsive QWERTY and WiFi connection. and Asha 501 the first of its kind in the new era of Nokia’s Asha devices using the new Asha operating system, faster and better.
Speaking on the competition, Marketing Manager, Kesiena Ogbemi said that this year’s competition will involve more online engagement, as interested participants will have to make entries via online platforms. According to Ogbemi, “the participants will be required to follow and like Nokia Nigeria Twitter handle and Facebook page. “The Judges, Modenine and Eva will send out Rap lines on both social networks, contestants will then reply with their own lines with #DBDB at the end of their tweet to enter for the competition. The Judges will select the top 300 lines from across the country, who would move on to the next phase of the competition”.
