chelsea has confirmed a deal with jose mourinho with €60m special welcome gift

Chelsea have all but sealed a sensational double agreement to bring Jose Mourinho and Radamel Falcao to Stamford Bridge this summer, according to reports in Germany.

In an article carried by the Daily Mirror, German newspaper Bild reports that Jose Mourinho is set to be appointed Chelsea manager for next season, with Atletico Madrid frontman Radamel Falcao a €60m "special welcome gift".

Falcao has been a long-term target for the Blues, and they were linked with a move for the Colombian international in January.

And with interim Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez set to leave the club at the end of the season, there has been speculation Mourinho could return to the Stamford Bridge dugout.

Bild broke the news of Mario Gotze's transfer to Bayern Munich earlier this week, and have now claimed the summer's second big transfer will involve the Blues.

Mourinho has been widely expected to leave the Bernabeu this summer, and Real Madrid's shock 4-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night will not boost his chances of sticking around much longer.

He'd be a popular appointment among Chelsea fans after a hugely successful three year spell at Stamford Bridge between 2004 and 2007.

And the report now claims he's "almost certain" to re-join the Blues this summer, with Falcao to follow in a €60m (£51.7m) deal.

The Atletico Madrid man would join Fernando Torres and Demba Ba, strengthening Chelsea's hopes of mounting a renewed Premier League title challenge next season.
