Eagles play test game in Germany

Ahead of next month’s 2014 World Cup qualifier against Kenya, the Super Eagles will today play against a local German side in a friendly game.

According to reports from Germany, where the Coach Stephen Keshi-tutored Nigerian side are training,  today’s test game will enable Keshi to have a broader picture of which players to use for the exhibition match against Mexico in USA.

A day after the test game, the African champions will fly out to Houston, Texas, for the Mexico match.

The African champions have been hit by injuries and withdrawals leading up to this game but they are expected to be boosted with the return of Mikel Obi, Ahmed Musa, Fegor Ogude, Efe Ambrose and Ogenyi Onazi in time for two 2014 World Cup qualifiers in Kenya and Namibia in early June.

Meanwhile, Sporting Braga left back Elderson Echiejile has said he is excited to finally join the Eagles camp in Germany  Elderson, who won Portuguese league cup with Braga in the just concluded season, said he was excited to return to national team duty after a short break.

”Now in Eagles camp in Germany, so excited to see so many old friends again,” the defender tweeted on his Twitter handle @Eldersonech.

He also congratulated Bayern Munich for emerging European champions after they beat German Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in a dramatic final on Saturday at the famous Wembley Stadium.

”Bayern champions of Europe after last season’s heartbreak, they deserved their triumph,” he tweeted.
